Each year we award two scholarships to the top senior year cadets to help with college expenses in each of the five schools. And in addition to scholarships, the chapter also presents the MOAA JROTC Medal and Certificate to a deserving junior cadet who has shown outstanding achievement in academics, leadership and community service.

The presentations of the scholarships and medals are made at each school’s awards banquet or ceremony near the end of the school year, usually in late April or May.
The cadets selected to receive the MOAA JROTC medal are also recognized at the Lake and Sumter Counties Chapter JROTC Recognition Dinner held the following November.

For further information about MOAA and the JROTC program, contact Col Marc Sherrill, USAF (Ret.), by sending an email to "community affairs" in the Contact portion of this website.
